US-based computer technology company NVIDIA has introduced the NVIDIA AI Enterprise-IGX with NVIDIA Holoscan on its NVIDIA IGX platform, to support real-time AI computing.

The two new solutions are designed to help businesses in medical, industrial and scientific computing sectors to develop AI solutions rapidly, with enterprise-grade software and support.

NVIDIA AI Enterprise-IGX is a new offering that provides enterprises with superior performance, security and support for the edge computing software stack.

It simplifies the AI-powered operations and the deployment of AI applications at scale.

NVIDIA Holoscan is a sensor-processing platform intended for streamlining the development and deployment of AI and high-performance computing applications to deliver real-time insights.

The combination of NVIDIA AI Enterprise-IGX and Holoscan provides an integrated platform that delivers powerful AI, flexible sensor,s real-time performance and safety for the industries.

NVIDIA robotics and edge computing vice president Deepu Talla said: “As software-defined functionality continues to transform businesses across industries, enterprises are seeking powerful edge AI solutions that can meet their unique performance and regulatory requirements.

“The NVIDIA IGX platform’s new capabilities deliver powerful enterprise-grade software from the cloud to the industrial edge, giving customers increased performance, safety and scalability.”

NVIDIA said that major medical technology companies such as Barco, Karl Storz, Medtronic and Moon Surgical are adopting NVIDIA IGX with Holoscan solution.

They intend to advance the development of their AI-powered solutions for medical diagnostics, surgical copilots, surgical robots, patient care agents and other applications.

Johnson & Johnson MedTech is working on NVIDIA IGX with Holoscan to advance the development of AI for its digital ecosystem for surgery, Polyphonic.

Medtronic is using NVIDIA IGX with NVIDIA Holoscan for its GI Genius intelligent endoscopy module designed, developed and manufactured by Cosmo Intelligent Medical Devices.

Moon Surgical is using the solution for its Maestro System, its advanced surgical robotics system to help surgeons with precision and control during minimally invasive procedures.

In a separate development, NVIDIA announced that two major Taiwanese medical centres are adopting its accelerated computing and generative AI solutions to advance biomedical research.

The two medical centres to adopt the NVIDIA solutions include the National Health Research Institute (NHRI) and Chang Gung Memorial Hospital (CGMH).
