Finnair Cargo’s Nordic Pharma Chain offers reliable shipping for delicate time and temperature-sensitive healthcare products requiring a controlled transport chain. Finnair Cargo passed IATA’s CEIV Pharma − Center of Excellence for Independent Validators in Pharmaceutical Logistics − programme as first airline in the world.

Finnair’s new cargo terminal, the COOL Nordic Cargo (CNC) hub, scheduled to open in May 2017, will feature a 3,000m2 dedicated pharma handling space with temperature control to protect the delicate pharmaceutical and life science products in accordance with shipper’s instructions. The temperature monitoring in the dedicated pharma area of the new COOL Nordic Cargo terminal will be integrated with Finnair’s new cargo management system, and customers will be able to track online also the temperatures in which the shipment is kept during terminal handling.

Finnair Cargo has also partnered with providers of active and passive containers that offer efficient protection for temperature-sensitive shipments. Customers with especially temperature sensitive shipments can pre-order such packaging solutions through Finnair Cargo Sales network.
